On Sunday afternoon, rookie sensation Vincent Nobile (shown at far left) drove his Mountain View Tire Dodge Avenger 208.26 miles per hour down the quarter-mile track at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio to capture his second NHRA Pro Stock victory of the 2011 season.
Nobile defeated fellow finalist Larry Morgan with a .032 reaction time and an elapsed time of 6.61 seconds. The win moves Nobile and the Mountain View Racing team up to third place in the point standings, within 12 points of second-place Mike Edwards.
Nobile told NHRA.com, “This is seriously a non-stop dream, and I’m waiting to wake up from it, but it’s still going. We’re just going to take it one race at a time. Yes, we’re doing very well, but it’s still real early in the season. I believe there are still six more races until the Countdown [to the Championship] actually begins, so we’re just going to take it one step at a time and hopefully get a few more wins before the Countdown starts.”
