Look at What Our Customers Are Saying!
We're so pleased that so many of our customers take the time to write to us about their Mountain View Tire & Auto Service experience. That confirms for us that we're doing something right.
We have two Lexuses that are serviced at your La Quinta store and have spent several thousand dollars at this location.
We enjoyed working with Jim Mellin, who is no longer associated with you, and we wish him well in his new endeavor, but we would like to bring to your attention that you have two employees there that deserve to be recognized as outstanding employees. They are Leo [Machuca] and Gus [Mellado]. We have had nothing but a very positive experience when we go in for service. These mechanics know us by our first names, and I see a lot of customers coming and going while I am there.
Everyone there works hard and I am here to tell you that they need to be acknowledged for the effort they put into their work, and most importantly customer service. I have referred a lot of my neighbors and they all feel the same as we do.
I don’t need to tell you that we have a choice of so many shops here in the Coachella Valley but none [is] as efficient as this location.
Please convey my message to these guys as they well deserve it.
From the moment we made the phone call to the [Lakewood] office to let them know what was wrong with the car, your employee, Earnest Selma, [was] so helpful. When we asked him if he could make a list of what other things we need to get done on the car the next time we bring it in, he did. He was very helpful and very nice.
I had a tire come off my trailer on the freeway. I found the rim finally and was referred across the street by your competitor to get a 13" tire. That's when your employee "Cat" took over. He immediately called your driver to pick up a tire, and they put it on in an hour!
The shop was busy. I told him how the tire separated from the lugs and ruined them. He said if I got the hub off he'd look at it. I brought it in and he pressed out the studs and replaced them. This is above and beyond good service. I will now get the other tire here and come back in the future.
I live in Riverside and I will drive! This man deserves any promotion or other form of compensation you could give. Despite the level of volume at the store that day, Cat came through. I must also tell you that he referred me to a place that had the rare square u-bolt size to fix my axle! I, as well as my friend, witnessed the level of service and will refer this shop to anybody.
Dear District Manager,
I wanted to send a big thank you out to your crew at Mountain View Tire in Duarte and a special mention to Robert [Crosswhite] for his prompt attention and fast turn-around of my vehicle on 3/19.
My wife wakes me at noon (night worker) on the 19th and states there is a flat on her car. She needs to leave for work and [asks if] I can take care of it. So, she takes my car. I get up and grab some coffee and head out to see. I put some air in the tire and it's a slow leak with the telltale hiss of escaping air. I jump in and head out to Mountain View for what I thought would be a quick repair. Robert checks the tire and stated it is unrepairable because it was bald.
Several thoughts go through my mind at that point. I cannot call in sick as it is a Saturday. I work 3pm to 3am as an RN in a very busy trauma center. Should I leave the car? Should I call a taxi and go home to get ready? Should I have them throw the donut on and limp to work? As it is now 12:30pm I need to make a decision.
Robert states that he can put 2 new tires on and I should be out within the hour. I said,
"Let's do it." Upon checking for in-stock tires, he found that they no longer carry my size. (My heart sank.) But he put a call out to his local supplier and they had my size in stock. Robert said, "I can go grab them and have you out within the hour." It is now 12:50pm. I said, "Let's do it."
Sure enough, I was out of there and back home at 2pm to shower and head to work. So, a big thanks to Robert and your crew
To Whom It May Concern:
I have been a customer of yours for over 18 years and the reason we have stayed with Mountain View Tire for so long is because of customer service and attention we get from your employees like Mr. Tom Chesney.
Tom Chesney is extremely professional, detail oriented, honest and caring. I wanted to thank him for all the support and hard work that he and his team of professionals give us as customers at the Tarzana location.
To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is to let you know that Gustavo Mellado, your service manager at your La Quinta location, saved our weekend trip to Indio.
We had a mishap upon our arrival in Indio late Saturday night and had two flat tires and didn’t know what to do. After a sleepless night when everyone was telling us that nothing was open on Sunday, we found your ad in the Yellow Pages. I called “Gus” and he gave me two numbers for tow services and arranged an emergency appointment for us. (We had an event to attend on Sunday afternoon.)
He was so courteous and caring on the phone and assured us that he would check everything out and make sure we were able to make the 9-hour drive back to San Francisco. Gus’s great service and personal attention had us on our way to the event and back to San Francisco. We are writing this letter to let you know what a great employee Gus is. He went the extra mile for us and that’s the stuff that matters these days.
We appreciate him and we hope you do too.
To Whom It May Concern:
I want to thank Alan Halenbeck and his crew for incredible service once again. Your Orange store has taken care of my family's 4 cars for many years, but recently Alan pulled me out of several jams. Alan's creative approach to solving problems helped me to get my cars running safely without blowing my kids' college savings accounts.
His honesty is commendable, especially in the automotive repair industry. Alan and his crew at your Orange store have earned my loyalty forever.
Sincerely and Thankfully,
I have been thoroughly impressed with my experiences at Mountain View [Tire] Orange. Allen and the guys are always helpful and professional and I trust them completely. I have referred several people here because I know they will be well taken care of!
Dear Owner of Mountain View Tire:
I am writing to you today to inform you of the exceptionally positive experience that I had with your management team and employees at Mountain View.
From the time that I called your company it was positive. I was looking for a Goodyear dealer in the Palm Springs area that could help me with a warranty adjustment [for the] defective sidewall of a G670 RV 275 X 70R - 22.5 tire on my motorhome. Prior to talking to Jim Mellin, I had contacted two other dealers who informed me that they could not do anything for me, as they only worked on autos and small trucks. When I told Jim what I had, he told me that normally they worked on auto and small truck tires, but he would do whatever he could to help me out.
He asked that I bring my motorhome by the shop and he would look at the tire and see what he could do. From that time he went right to work and arranged to get me a new tire and set an appointment with me to do the work. When I showed up at your business, everyone in the place knew what was going on and [was] the most cordial and nicest bunch of guys I had been around.
Lional was assigned to handle the work of changing out the tire. I couldn't believe how efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant he was to work with. I have traveled all over the U.S. and Canada and have never been treated as well as I was by the people at your dealership.
I know that you must be very proud of the job that Jim and his crew do for you. I usually spend time every winter in your area and you can bet that your dealership will have my business and any other business I can send your way. Please let your folks at the store know how happy I was with the professional manner with which they treated me.
Thank you and your team at Mountain View.
This is to commend the Eagle Rock assistant store manager, David Nussbaum.
A little more than a month ago, I came in to the Eagle Rock store to buy four replacement tires for my 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan. I told David that I wanted a specific Goodyear tire. He told me he was out of stock of that particular tire. He made a phone call to see if they were available anywhere in the area. Unfortunately, they were not available anywhere in the state. Rather than try to sell me on another type or brand of tire, he called the Goodyear plant. He found out that they were scheduled to be manufactured in two weeks and he should be able to get them for me in about a month or so. I told him to order them for me.
During the following weeks, David spoke to me by phone every week and kept me informed of the progress of my tires. When they arrived at the store, he called me to come in. When I came into the store, David greeted me and told me he would have the tires installed quickly. When I left, he told me to be sure and come back if there were any problems.
Because of the superior customer service provided to me by David, I will make Mountain View Tire my store for tires and any other vehicle service in the future.
(Webmaster's Note: This testimonial came to us in a hand-written card...with homemade cookies!)
Please enjoy these cookies. It’s a small gift from a single lady to show my appreciation for the honest service you have given me for many years now. Thank you so much. You guys are really great.
Just one happy customer,
Dear Al Haber,
You saved the day today! Even though you were super busy, I appreciate you squeezing me in to fix our tire. It means so very much to be able to drop your car off with people who are honest, fair and reliable. We consider ourselves lifetime customers at Mountain View Tire as long as you are there. Your mechanics are super friendly too!
Our very best,
Thank you for your kind attention to my daughter's needs. You got her in and out quickly and back to work, and she was treated very well. I talked to Earnest (Culver City location) and he was very helpful. So again, thank you so much. It was a pleasure dealing with your shop.
I stupidly tried to save [money] by going to another Goodyear in Huntington Beach one time. My $13.95 oil change ended up costing me over $700 [and] three trips back to correct the damage they did to my car. [I] finally [went] to my usual Goodyear in Huntington Beach.
Sonny and the guys were great in trying to help me recoup my losses and letting me know exactly what was wrong with my car. Unfortunately, I had to pay again to fix my car correctly. The other Goodyear isn't owned by Mountain View and I wasn't trusting them to fix their mistake after being lied to and ending up with more damage to my car. I felt I was being insulted for being a woman. (I did take auto shop in high school.) Of course, Mountain View was also $200 cheaper than what I originally payed the other company.
The guys at the Huntington Beach store are the BEST! They treat me with respect, explain everything to me, and give me a fair price without trying to rip me off. I will never stray again. I promise!!!!
I woke up in FREEZING weather to a tire so flat that the rim was touching the ground. I tried my best to get the jack out of my car (I didn't know how so I had to refer to the manual in the glove compartment), then I wasn't strong enough to get the lug nuts off. I couldn't feel my fingers because it was so cold (and I had also just washed my hair while getting ready for work. Are you getting the picture?) Then I was horrified to realize I was starting to cry (lame girl move) and figured I'd call a gas station to come help me get the lug nuts off. A guy came out and charged me $55, which I guess was okay, but he didn't even put any of my stuff back, so I had to try and reassemble the cargo floor of my SUV while he drove off waving the check out the window.
So, my undersized little temporary tire [and I] limped over to [your] Magnolia [store in Burbank] where I remember you quoting me a price on some touring "Coopers." I stumbled into [Mountain View Tire] babbling for "Hutch," but some angel named Leville told me not to worry and that he would take care of everything. Not only did I get 4 new tires (and a lecture on nitrogen vs. air! Ha ha), but I got to sip coffee while guys kept coming and going, showing me head counts on lug nut covers and stem valve caps, etc. They were super conscientious. Leville even did the work because he said, otherwise, I would have been waiting too long. (He didn't even know that I work at the Superior Court in Simi and they were already tapping their toes wanting me back at work.) One guy even walked by and said "Your car is almost ready" with a big smile. Suddenly, I couldn't remember what I was so stressed out about.
I will be a customer of yours FOREVER because you and your crew took care of me above and beyond the call of duty, even though I was at my most vulnerable. I hate feeling helpless, and dealing with auto guys is even worse because I know they could tell me almost anything and I'd have to take their word for it. Yours is an industry where trust and reputation is key. Thanks for being a shining example. I'll be back. With donuts next time!
Thanks to you and all your gentlemen. They are a chivalrous bunch. You raised them well.
Dear Mr. Mitsos,
I would like to inform you of the service I received from your Palm Desert location on Town Center Way. There are so many ways to describe the service, but I think a great big WOW is in order. The competent men [who] work very hard at this location are just amazing. In a world where most of us are always questioning the true intentions of automotive, tire and repair shops, this company [and] this location are a bright light of trust and assurance that you are in good hands.
My wife and I have been taking our cars to Robert and his team for years now and [the] experience gets better with each visit. They are very honest, recommend the pertinent items, and do not pressure you like at most automotive shops.
I have two children and one on the way. That said, I look at several different things in an automotive shop. First are the safety factors. Who do I trust to ensure my vehicles stay in good shape...?
Secondly, who do I trust to not price gouge or have me buy items or services I don't need?
Thirdly, the level of service I receive, [and how] they show appreciation for my business. The trust of their safety, honesty and level of service I get from Robert, Anthony, Chris, Adam and the rest of the Palm Desert team is astounding.
Last but not least, on the company of Mountain View Tire. I am a firm believer that front-line employees are a reflection of a company. The Palm Desert team has been consistent for years, with almost no turnover as far as I can see, and creates a welcoming, family environment. It did not come as a surprise to me that this is a family-owned operation. It is very apparent that the company is dedicated to its customers.
We bought four tires and had extensive work done on one of our cars. We were given a redemption coupon for four tickets to a Los Angeles Kings hockey game. In my family we do not have very much money for events like this. Last night, I was able to take my wife, daughter and son to their very first hockey game. I have wanted to do this for years. However, due to [our] finances, I have never been able to. We had a blast. We had good seats and a great time. The smiles on my children's faces, their reaction to the stadium, big crowds and a great game that went into overtime, then to a shootout where the Kings won was a priceless event in my family's life. This will be remembered very fondly to our family, especially since it was around the holidays. Thank you, Mountain View Tire, for having these types of promotions. They mean a lot to us.
I have for years and will continue in the future to recommend everyone I know to your stores, especially the Palm Desert team. I thank you for your dedication to your customers, as it always shines so brightly.
With sincerest regards,
I have been a customer of the Glendale store for over 20 years and have always been satisfied with the price, service and personnel. I have had a special relationship with Emillo. I consider him my mechanic. I can depend on him to give me an honest opinion of what service is needed and [that the] work will be done correctly.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these tires that I received today. I am very happy my car is driving smoothly.
I just wanted to let you know what a remarkable and competent employee you have in Henry. He greeted me with the utmost respect and professionalism, and exceeded my expectations in the quality of customer service that he provided. I am so impressed by your company [that] I will definitely be recommending your services to all my family and friends.
With much appreciation, thanks again, and happy holidays to you and yours,
To Whom It May Concern:
On 12/3/10 I brought my car in for a battery charge. I was told by AAA that I needed an alternator, but you had put one in my car in 2004. AAA had started my car with a jump start three times on 12/3/10, and each time I insisted I needed a new battery. After one-and-a-half hours of charging, Adam Webb [from Mountain View Tire Palm Desert] told me my battery was dead and I needed a new one, and that the alternator was just fine. I called AAA to bring a new charged battery to Mountain View Tire and put it in. Adam talked to the man from AAA and finally I was given a new pro-rated battery.
Never again will I buy anything for my car from anyone but Mountain View Tire. They have taken care of my car for 20 years. The service is good, but what I count on is the knowledge of your staff, such as Adam. His courtesy and kindness to an upset old lady were beyond his job description!!!
I brought my Saturn in for service on 11/4/2010 and Earnest [Selma at Long Beach] was TREMENDOUSLY helpful. He figured out a way to bring the cost of repair down to a level that fit my budget, provided for transportation to and from my house, and was polite, considerate and kind throughout the whole process. I would have forwarded this note of appreciation sooner, but unfortunately I misplaced the contact information. When I found it this afternoon I was delighted to be able - at long last - to let Mountain View Tire know how pleased I was to do business with Earnest. I will recommend your facility and Earnest to all my friends and colleagues. Thanks again.
