Alan was super nice and beyond prompt and efficient. It's my first time having services outside the dealership. I decided to come here [Newhall] because Alan assured me I'd be out in time for me to pick up my kids from school. Will definitely return.
We have been going to the Newhall location for a while and have seen many come and go, except for one of the mechanics who is a man of integrity and character. [Also,] their new manager is Allan. He's so nice, friendly and honest. We really like [both of] them. They take pride in the service of our cars and especially in their customer service.
Thank you, guys, for all you do, for making our experience good, and for the confidence we have in you.
Have a blessed year.
My car died in my own driveway on a Sunday, blocking the garage. I had a friend come and try to jump it, but it would not hold a charge. I had to have it towed so that we could get to the other car in the garage.
Mountain View (Newhall) was open, so I called and spoke with Leo. When he called me back he said the alternator needed to be replaced, as well as my old battery and the serpentine belt. I am on disability and did not have that much money on hand. He understood, and looked for ways to help me lower the cost. He managed to find a coupon to apply to each of the services and managed to bring the amount down.
I have been to Mountain View before and knew that they do good work, but from now on this will be my only auto repair shop.
Thank you, Leo, for going above and beyond to help me.
On December 6, I got notice at 4pm that I was under mandatory evacuation due to the close proximity of the Santa Clarita fire. My family and I had little time to decide where we could temporarily move to. We knew we had to get out of the Santa Clarita Valley, so we opted to pack up our stuff and head out to my parents' place in Pasadena.
A day before this mandatory evacuation, my wife had run over a nail and flattened her tire. We put on the spare tire, but we knew we had to get the original fixed. My wife had gone to one local tire store in the morning, but there was nobody around who could fix it.
That afternoon we got word of the evacuation and we were looking at a hefty trek to Pasadena on a spare tire. We needed to leave to Pasadena, but we wouldn't attempt to without getting the original tire fixed and placed on the car.
Mountain View Tire Auto Service Newhall, located right off of Lyons, helped us out in a pinch.
The store officially close at 6pm, and we got there right at 6. Rather than turning us away, the manager and crew welcomed us in.
The damage to the original tire was extensive enough that I would have had no qualms about purchasing a brand new tire right there on the spot. However, the manager thought the original tire was possibly salvageable and wanted to try patching it.
The patch worked and I saved at least $100. I was impressed by the honesty of the manager and his crew. They could have easily sold me a brand new tire in my desperate situation, but they only wanted to do what was right in that situation.
When I asked how much I owed for the patch on the tire, the manager just waved it off and asked if we could write a positive review about their business.
From now on, any time I have an issue with tires, I am going to Mountain View. They earned my trust and loyalty. They are the best tire store in the valley.

This place rocks. I only go to Tom, Ray or Ed to get any work done on my car. Brian is awesome and keeps me updated with how long my car will take to be done.
Great communication, [as] opposed to other independent shops I go to.
I took my car to 3 shops to find out the problem with my check engine light and no one could figure it out until I brought it to Tom. Great place. Great management. Highly recommended.
We would like to extend our great appreciation for the help we received from Mountain View Tire and Auto Service, the Newhall location. Ed and Art were super friendly and willing to help my family and me. We were visitors in the area and we had a tire problem. God bless and keep up the great work!
I wanted to say how well the manager [at the Newhall store] took care of my tire issue. I found him to be very straightforward and helpful. He just worked the issue until it was solved. I had been to at least 4 tire stores prior to that and I didn't get the help or the pricing.
I had some Nitto tires that were an odd size 28550R (20-inch) that were discontinued and needed to be replaced. He sorted out some alternative tires - same effective diameter - to fit the existing rims. Good price. Quick service!
Just really took a lot of care with a difficult situation to find a solution for me. I would recommend this store, and I am definitely going back there for my tire needs in the future.
To the Staff of Mountain View Tire,
In August of this year, I had the opportunity to take a vacation in California and took my wife and children to the Six Flags Magic Mountain, not far from your location in Newhall on Lyons Ave. Due to issues with the construction on the I-5, I received a flat tire on my rental car.
After spending over two-and-a-half hours waiting at your competition down the street, they told me I would require a brand new tire, and I would have to come back the next day as they had to get this standard-sized tire from their warehouse.
Feeling totally fed up, I drove the ½ mile from the competition to your facility. Arriving at about 12:15, they had brought my car in right away and, within 30 minutes, had the flat tire repaired and put back on the car. Total cost of around $20.
Thank you so much for being a light of sunshine in my vacation. If I had to spend another minute at your competition or pay the ridiculous $160 + they were quoting, I would have blown a gasket.
I called your Newhall store yesterday and spoke with Enrique. I told him that my vehicle was being towed to his location, and I would be there within 20 minutes. My "check engine" light had come on and I was afraid to drive the vehicle. When I arrived at the Newhall store, I was immediately greeted by Ray, and he opened the door to the reception area and told me that Enrique was expecting me. I felt like a VIP!!
Ray ran a diagnostic and discovered the problem. He did a temporary fix, but wasn't sure that it would last. Enrique said that if the "check engine" light came on again, I could still drive my car, but I should take it in for the necessary repairs. I know Enrique from the North Hollywood store. He is there part of the time, and at the Newhall store part of the time. He was mentioned in my first testimonial sent to Mountain View a few months ago, along with everyone from both the Newhall store and the North Hollywood store. I work in North Hollywood and live in Canyon Country. I usually take my vehicle to the North Hollywood store and they drive me to and from my office.
Both Ray and Enrique were wonderful. Enrique did not charge me for the diagnostic, as he knows that I am a very good customer. I tried to give Ray a little something for his efforts, but he would not accept anything from me. He was so gracious.
My experience with Mountain View Tire is that the service is exemplary. From the customer service reps to the mechanics to anyone in-between, the Mountain View employees are top notch. In fact, my company has all of our trucks (20) serviced by Mountain View Tire because of me.
My name is Technical Sergeant Gilbert Rodela, and I work as Management Services NCO for the Department of Public Works at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, located approximately 60 miles from your Newhall Mountain View Tire location. I currently serve militarily and travel quite a bit from Seal Beach to Ventura, as well as many points in between.
I would first like to mention the fact that my girlfriend, Cynthia Maker, who is a U. S. Postal Service Letter Carrier, delivers mail to your Newhall location and has developed a high level of trust with your staff. Interestingly enough, it is difficult for women to trust the advice of a mechanic because of the stigma attached to how women have been mistreated and overcharged in the past.
I was introduced to Mr. Troy Clewis, General Manager, and Mr. Ray Gutierrez, Service Manager, who have assisted me with my car on a few occasions already. I own a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder and since it is my only means of transportation, I cannot afford to be without it. I have come to trust them both so much that it is not a major ordeal if I have to drive the miles it takes for me to take my car in to them for repairs. I have had them work on several items previously and have been completely satisfied with their professionalism, expertise and diligence to make sure I have a trustworthy vehicle once they are finished with it.
The reason I am emailing you today is to congratulate you on how Mr. Ray Gutierrez has gone above and beyond the call of duty and cemented my positive belief in Mountain View Tire and how [you] take care of [your] customers.
I took two days off last week before Thanksgiving for the purpose of seeing Ray and Troy to have them attend to an oil leak I had recently discovered. I had taken [my car] to a local mechanic here at Los Alamitos, and before he even looked at it, he quoted me a price of $3,500 to repair said oil leak.
I did not haggle with Ray as I dropped off my car. I knew he would have his staff diagnose the problem and give me a reasonable cost estimate. I had all the confidence that I would be treated with the utmost care. It turns out that initially all my car needed was to have my oil cooler component tightened - no charge. While I had my car in their shop, I agreed with their diagnosis of replacing my shocks and having my front and rear differential oil drained and replaced.
I was happy as I drove out to celebrate Thanksgiving with my father in Ontario, California. As I was visiting my family I discovered that the oil leak had returned, so I called Ray to see what it could be. He said to bring my car back on Sunday. They looked at my car and discovered that they had misdiagnosed my issue. They realized that the gaskets sealing the housing had become brittle and were no longer able to keep oil from leaking out of the component. I was more than willing to pay for their time and effort to replace the gaskets, but Ray let me know that because I had to drive all the way back from Ontario just to bring them my car when it was supposed to be fixed the first time, [they would] waive the cost, thus causing me to sing their praises to you in my email.
I would like to recognize Mr. Ray Gutierrez, Mr. Troy Clewis and their staff for always being helpful and courteous, as well as honest and forthcoming with regard to my vehicle. I do not simply trust anyone based upon their word alone. Your staff has proven to me time and time again that they do more than just promise - they deliver what they say they will and then some. They have always gone above and beyond where it concerns servicing their customers.
In closing, I want you to know that good news travels fast however, BAD news travels faster. I have been Mountain View Tire's biggest fan since having my car successfully worked on by your staff. I recommend that my staff and friends go to Mountain View Tire for any and all auto-related issues they may have. I tell them that it may, in fact, be a long drive, but at least they can rest assured knowing that they'll have a reliable company taking care of them and their car-related issues.
Thank you again for your time.
Dear Mountain View Tire,
I have been going to Mountain View Tire in Newhall on Lyons Road for a couple of years now. Troy and his crew are wonderful. They are my good luck charm. I had problems with my rack and pinion steering and, with the help of Troy, I was able to get a Goodyear credit card and have the work done.
Also, a couple of months back, I was in a car accident and I hit a kid's car which popped out my headlights. I called Troy in tears and told him what happened and that I was trying to zip tie my headlights back into the mounts of the truck. I was unsuccessful in doing so. He sent a couple of guys over to me, and they were able to do a quick repair on my headlights. Because of all of their hard work and willingness to help me, I will always go to this particular store to have the maintenance done on my car, no matter where I live. It will be well worth the drive.
