What’s Wrong with Your Vehicle?
There are several reasons a vehicle might fail a smog check. It could be a problem with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation System (EGR) or the fuel metering. A faulty distributor cap, ignition coil or spark plugs can contribute to a failing grade. Other causes include burned valves, vacuum leaks and a bad catalytic converter.
